![]() ![]() VDC has a locker system for packages so if they arrive a little early that's not a big deal (or as you're their roommate you could just pick them up for them). It's a much better idea to just purchase most things online and time them to arrive as you do than to load up your luggage with stuff. They probably already have but I would suggest they reach out to see if they can find other people from their area in the US to find out if there is something they might expect but can't buy. I would probably bring more cash I was surprised by how many US payment processors wouldn't accept my Australian debit card. I arrived to an empty apartment so I got really screwed over by the fact that I didn't have a router, but that isn't a factor if you are already set up. Depending on how many electronic appliances (with built in plugs, obvs for phone just buy a new wall socket) they have, a power board from their country then you can use as many appliances as needed with just one adapter.Įverything else really depends on what you have and are willing to share (at least for the first month or whatever). The main international thing is of course an adapter, I recommend bringing at least 2 (although you could buy a second) because once things open up more, 1 can stay at home and the other comes to classes etc. Have a concern?
